Chinese New Year-Year of the Rabbit

The Chinese New Year begins in Febuary 3.2011.
Legend has it that in ancient times, Buddha asked all the animals to meet him on Chinese New Year. Twelve came, and Buddha named a year after each one. He announced that the people born in each animal's year would have some of that animal's personality. Those born in rabbit years are popular, compassionate, and sincere.
My card to celebrate the year of the rabbit began with the making of the medallion on Print Shop. I added some gold eyes to the rabbits as well as clear dots over the Chinese symbal for rabbit and the muti-colored circles. I then stamped the outside frame using a JustRite stamp. The Chinese symbols for Health and Happiness are depicted on the lantern and inside the card. Martha Stewarts Lattice punch provided an interesting background.
